James Vernon Lourash, 75, of Decatur passed away Monday August 8, 2011 at his residence.
A service to celebrate James life will be 11:00 a.m. Friday August 12, 2011 at Decatur Seventh-Day Adventist Church at 530 N. Sunnyside Road in Decatur with Pastor Larry Clonch officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday August 11, 2011 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home North, Highway 51, Decatur. Burial will be at Macon County Memorial Park Cemetery in Harristown.
Memorials are suggested to Decatur Seventh-Day Adventist Church or to the family.
James was born on October 21, 1935 in Decatur the son of James Ernest and Hazel Harrell Lourash. He married Marcella K. Dodd on February 14, 1976. James was a member of Decatur Seventh-Day Adventist Church and a self-employed Dry Wall Finisher.
James is survived by his wife Marcella of Decatur; children: Randall James Lourash and wife Gloria of Decatur, LaDonna Henderson and husband Ken of Colorado Springs, CO., Becky Williams and husband Todd of Menomonie, WI., Scott Wilkins and wife Jodi of Decatur, Jim Wilkins and wife Becky of Grand Rapids, MN., and Crystal Lourash and fiancé Mark Hensen of Mt. Zion; sister: Marjorie Vawter of Wagoner, OK; grandchildren: David, Levi, Sean, Max, Jonathon, Cheyenne, Matthew, Travis, Zach, Jamie, Nathaniel and Austin; great grandchild Isaiah.
James was preceded in death by his parents.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to friends Kelly and Tonya, to Dr. McCormack, Dr. DiLorenzo and all the DMH Hospice workers.

We are extremely saddened by your loss. We will always have very fond and Blessed memories of times spent together at church, potlucks, and especially camping and rafting. You both shared your smiles and always uplifted everyone around you. Marty and Jim are mentors in every aspect of life (love, kindness, and friendship) living examples of what a true Christian is.
